I get why society praises this state of mind.

It’s efficient, clear-minded, a tad bit robotic.

So why do we get enthralled in movies

with passionate tales of love and fire?

We crave what we can’t hold,

longing for the chaos that stirs the soul.

For all its certainty,

stability feels like a lullaby that doesn’t quite reach the heart —

safe, but never truly alive.
