#1 Be grateful for employers who care

As someone who values people’s time and works with integrity, I recognize life doesn’t stop when I shatter a wine glass in my hands. With the assistance of a 911 dispatcher, I stop the bleeding and text my employers about an important client meeting set in 3 hours. Instantly they assure the meeting will go on and to focus on taking care of myself and letting them know if I need anything.

Although intuitively aware, at that moment it was made crystal clear —

entrepreneurs truly are people-oriented, they genuinely care about the people they serve and develop.

#2 The dishes can wait

Working from home brings forth many distractions and if you’re a neat freak like myself — a large pile of dirty dishes really gets under your skin (pun totally intended).

The truth of the matter? The dishes can wait. We are home more often ergo we are eating at home more often ergo we are smudging dishes more often. It’s fine. STOP sweating the small stuff.

Don’t lie. Period. Why do you need to engage the most delicate finger on your hand to confirm a promise or truth? Be honest. Put your clients first, put trust first, and put mindfulness first. Everything else will fall into place.

Take it from the girl with 5 stitches in her pinky finger currently.
